Even though our boat was not
large (about 100 passengers), every time we got on or off the
boat the staff wished us well or welcomed us back.
Because the water level rises
and falls so much in a single season there are no docks. Instead
a series of movable barges are used connect the boats to the shore.
The town of Wushan in the background
will be completely submerged in 2003.
