The dynasty that overthrew the
Qin was the Han (206 BC - 220 AD) who raided the tombs, smashed
all the warriors and stole the weapons (which were real).
This shows a pit that has been
excavated but before the warriors are reassembled.
Xian became an important trading
capitol. It lies on the edge of the Gobi desert at the beginning
of the Silk Road. By 600 AD Xian had become the largest city in
the world.
Apparently when the wind blows
the city becomes covered in dust from the Gobi.
