LANL Geosynchronous Data Products

Description:

Three separate instruments are flown as part of the Los Alamos geosynchronous space environment package. MPA is covers the thermal plasma population with energies from a few eV to 40 keV. SOPA covers the substorm injection population from 50 keV to approximately 1 MeV. ESP covers the relativistic electron energies above approximately 1 MeV. Several sets of data products have been produced from these instruments for the GEM storms.

In addition we have produced "merged" data sets that include fluxes from all three instruments in a single text data file. These files contain Universal Time, Spacecraft Location, Dst, Kp, 99 separate flux channels ranging from a few eV to tens of MeV energies, and plasma moments. Production of the merged flux files, data validation, and data distribution was funded through the National Science Foundation's National Space Weather Program.
